Computer Supported Collaborative Work

As part of this week's discussion, we've been asked to add to a list of "quotable quotes" related to Distributed Cognition. I happened across this gem while exploring the notion of distributed cognition as it relates to computer supported collaborative work (CSCW).

Errors will occur in any system of human behavior; the advantage of designing for errors is that the cooperative system can turn occasion of errors into opportunities. Thus when designing for CSCW, it's also important to "design for errors".
